I was born Egyptian and raised in Ras Al Khaimah, one of the seven emirates that make up United Arab Emirates. An oasis alongside the Arab Gulf, the city is made up of a paradise of crystal blue beaches, hot springs and vast deserts in the embrace of majestic mountains. With a long history that dates back to 3,000 BC, Ras Al Khaimah is a vibrant home to many ethnic groups coming from different backgrounds, religion and cultures, living in harmony and building a city that never fails to amaze its own citizens – no matter how long they have been living there! Growing up in the hands of such loving and caring community, I used to believe the world itself was well within the walls of my city and that there was nothing outside of it.
When I became of age, I bid farewell to my family and headed to Egypt for the mandatory military service. It was my first time visiting the homeland of my ancestors. Throughout my service time, I got to meet and befriend people from places and countries I never heard of. Their stories from far corners of the earth took me beyond the Ras Al Khaimah I knew. Sharing the same dorms, routines and units with such a diverse group makes me question what else the world had to offer.
After concluding my service in Egypt, I spent a few months traveling across the Gulf and Africa, and then decided to join Aspire Lifestyles as a Lifestyle Concierge. My line of work is not just about customer service, it’s about helping our members see what they have not seen before and experience what they have not experienced. It is about discovering the extraordinary, and that excites me every day.
My experience in Egypt and my current job at Aspire Lifestyles teaches me that there is always something new waiting ahead. To every young person who is just starting out on your career, I encourage you to take on opportunities to explore new places and meet new people. The world is big and full of wonders; you never know what you will discover next.
